Adults and parents can volunteer for FOCUS on April 26-27, 2019. Please review the volunteer roles and submit the online application and Background clearances.
1. Adult Encourager
Adult Encourages are small group leaders responsible for the safety and spiritual experience for a group of 5-7 students throughout the weekend. These adults will help transport students to the host home on Friday night and spend the night with the group. The adult leaders also lead the small group discussion times during the weekend and provide support at the worksite. Every adult leader is expected to provide the required background clearances and complete the required training with the Elevate staff.
2. Host Home.
Host homes are parents and families who volunteer to host a group of teenagers and their adult leader in their home overnight on Friday. The host also provides a snack Friday night, breakfast Saturday morning and transportation on Friday night and Saturday morning. All host homes must complete the necessary background clearances and the required training.
3. Project Support Team
This team is made of volunteers who arrive early to the project on Saturday morning and help organize materials and groups into work crews throughout the day. This team is responsible to make sure the project is completed and cleaned up on time.
4. Behind the Scenes Support.
There are many different support roles behind the scenes: meal team, check in team, etc. These teams have a variety of time commitments - some on just Friday or Saturday, some are all weekend.
